Saab har designat en ny variant av den kommande svenska ubåten A26. Ubåten får en ny stor del som kan användas för att skjuta iväg kryssningsmissiler. Än så länge finns inga beställningar på den nya funktionen.

The X-rudder configuration with four independently controlled control surfaces provides high-manoeuvrability. The submarine requires low operating and maintenance costs. SAAB Kockums offer three versions of the A26 or Oceanic as it is called now. It's the largest version Oceanic ER that can be fitted with a module for cruise missiles. The smallest version Pelagic doesn't have the large diameter lock in the bow but can still be offered with Stirling AIP. The new Pelagic variant is a smaller version of the A26 designed for the Swedish Navy. A26 Pelagic measures less than 50 meters in length with a surfaced displacement of about 1,000 tons. Its range is 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots and its endurance at patrol speed is over 20 days thanks to the AIP module.
