European Ethnology at the University of Graz This degree programme examines topics of relevance to social and cultural studies, using a range of research methods. Research topics focus on contemporary issues such as processes of cultural transformation or the phenomenon of the urban-space-society. in Central-Eastern Europe and Western, mainly British-style anthropology. It pro-poses to go beyond the prevalent divisive discourse towards a trans-national European ethnology/anthropology of Europe. It argues that fairness and equality in academic dialogue is a necessary prerequisite of such an endeavour.
